The
Tommy Castro Band have reunited with Blind Pig Records,
the label that brought Castro to international renown
back in 1996, to bring you Soul Shaker, his latest release.
With Soul Shaker, Castro produces his first album of original
music in four years, and B.B. King’s Blues Club
is there to join in on the celebration. Castro may just
be one of the most popular and creative blues artists
to rise in recent years. He co-produced Soul Shakerwith
the multitalented producer and songwriter Kevin Bowe.
The Tommy Castro Band, Randy McDonald on bass, Keith Crossan
on saxophone, and Chris Sandoval on drums, was joined
by Robert Cray, keyboardist Jimmy Pugh, and slide guitarists
Roy Rogers for their latest album. With this multitalented
line-up of artists, Soul Shaker was even further enhanced
to provide a fusion of blues, rock and good ol’
Memphis soul. There was even a venture into some Urban
and Latin territory on a few tracks. This album may just
provide you with all the soul shaking you’ll need.
If
it doesn’t, you may have to just see them live.
